This Safety and Proper Use Policy applies to InnerLok products sold by Stealth Creative LLC, doing business as InnerLok. By purchasing, installing, handling, towing with, or using an InnerLok product, you agree to follow all applicable product instructions, warnings, specifications, and safety requirements.

InnerLok products are designed to assist with trailer, hitch, coupler, receiver, and equipment security. Improper selection, installation, inspection, maintenance, or use may result in product failure, property damage, injury, theft, or loss.

1. Read Instructions Before Use

Before installing or using any InnerLok product, you must read and follow all product instructions, warnings, specifications, fitment guidance, labels, packaging, and documentation provided with the product or made available by InnerLok.

Do not use the product if you do not understand the instructions or are unsure whether the product is compatible with your trailer, hitch, receiver, coupler, ball mount, vehicle, or equipment.

For questions, contact InnerLok at support@innerlok.com before use.

2. Confirm Fitment and Compatibility

You are responsible for confirming that the InnerLok product is compatible with your specific application before installation or use.

Compatibility may depend on factors including:

  • Trailer type
  • Hitch type
  • Receiver size
  • Ball mount type
  • Coupler type
  • Pin-hole size
  • Pin-hole alignment
  • Clearance
  • Tongue weight
  • Gross trailer weight
  • Vehicle rating
  • Hitch rating
  • Receiver rating
  • Manufacturer specifications
  • Applicable towing laws and safety requirements

Do not force, modify, bend, drill, grind, cut, weld, or alter an InnerLok product to make it fit. If the product does not fit correctly, do not use it.

3. Hitch Pin Replacement Use

Certain InnerLok products may be designed to replace a standard hitch pin and remain installed during normal towing when used exactly as instructed for that specific product.

When used as a hitch pin replacement, the product must only be used with compatible and properly rated towing equipment and within the limits stated in the applicable product specifications, instructions, labels, packaging, or written documentation.

InnerLok does not increase the towing capacity, tongue weight capacity, receiver rating, hitch rating, vehicle rating, trailer rating, or any other manufacturer-rated limit of the towing setup.

4. Do Not Exceed Rated Limits

Never exceed the rated limits of your vehicle, hitch, receiver, ball mount, coupler, trailer, safety chains, braking system, or InnerLok product.

The lowest-rated component in the towing setup controls the safe operating limit.

You are responsible for knowing and following all applicable manufacturer ratings, including:

  • Gross trailer weight rating
  • Tongue weight rating
  • Receiver rating
  • Hitch rating
  • Ball mount rating
  • Coupler rating
  • Vehicle towing capacity
  • InnerLok product rating, if stated
  • Trailer brake requirements
  • Safety chain requirements

Use beyond rated limits may result in product failure, trailer separation, property damage, injury, or death.

5. Installation Requirements

Install InnerLok products only as directed.

Before towing or leaving equipment secured, confirm that:

  • The product is fully seated
  • The locking mechanism is fully engaged
  • The key or locking feature functions correctly
  • The product is properly aligned
  • All required parts are installed
  • No part is loose, missing, cracked, bent, or damaged
  • The product does not interfere with hitch movement, trailer movement, wiring, brakes, chains, coupler operation, or other equipment
  • The trailer, hitch, receiver, and vehicle remain properly connected and secured

If anything appears incorrect, do not tow or use the product until the issue is corrected.

6. Pre-Use Inspection

Before each use, inspect the InnerLok product and the towing setup.

Check for:

  • Loose parts
  • Missing parts
  • Cracks
  • Bending
  • Excessive wear
  • Corrosion
  • Damage
  • Tampering
  • Impact marks
  • Forced-entry marks
  • Locking issues
  • Key issues
  • Improper fitment
  • Interference with towing equipment

Do not use a product that is damaged, altered, excessively worn, corroded, jammed, misaligned, or not operating correctly.

7. Proper Towing Practices

When an InnerLok product is used during towing, it must be used only in accordance with written instructions and within stated specifications.

You remain responsible for safe towing practices, including confirming that:

  • The trailer is properly coupled
  • The hitch and receiver are properly rated
  • The ball mount is properly installed
  • Safety chains are attached correctly
  • Trailer lights work correctly
  • Brakes are functioning where required
  • The load is properly balanced and secured
  • Tire pressure is proper
  • The trailer is not overloaded
  • All connections are inspected before travel
  • All towing laws are followed

InnerLok is a security and hitch-related product, but it does not replace the need for safe towing inspection, proper equipment, or responsible operation.

8. Security Product Limitations

InnerLok products are theft-deterrent security devices.

No lock, hitch lock, coupler lock, hitch pin replacement device, receiver lock, or security product can guarantee prevention of theft, attempted theft, forced entry, tampering, vandalism, property damage, unauthorized access, or loss.

Use of an InnerLok product does not eliminate the need for other reasonable security measures, including safe parking, surveillance, wheel locks, coupler locks, GPS tracking, insurance, lighting, and other theft-prevention practices where appropriate.

9. Do Not Modify the Product

Do not modify, alter, disassemble, weld, drill, grind, cut, paint in a way that affects operation, remove markings, bypass locking features, or attempt unauthorized repairs on any InnerLok product.

Unauthorized modification may weaken the product, interfere with operation, create safety hazards, void warranty coverage, and increase the risk of failure, theft, damage, or injury.

10. Use Only for Intended Purpose

Use InnerLok products only for their intended purpose and only as described in the applicable product documentation.

Do not use InnerLok products for applications not approved by InnerLok, including makeshift towing, lifting, pulling, recovery, hoisting, load securement, impact loading, or any use outside the product's stated specifications.

11. Key, Lock, and Access Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining control of keys, lock combinations, access codes, replacement keys, and related security items.

InnerLok is not responsible for lost keys, stolen keys, unauthorized key access, failure to secure keys, or inability to unlock a product due to lost, damaged, or misplaced keys.

Keep backup access items in a secure location.

12. Environmental Exposure and Maintenance

InnerLok products may be exposed to weather, road debris, salt, water, mud, ice, heat, cold, and other harsh conditions.

You are responsible for routine inspection, cleaning, lubrication where appropriate, and maintenance according to product instructions.

Failure to maintain the product may result in corrosion, sticking, reduced performance, difficult operation, or product failure.

13. Damage, Tampering, or Theft Attempt

If the product has been involved in an attempted theft, forced entry, impact, collision, overload, tampering event, or visible damage event, stop using it immediately until it is inspected and confirmed safe for continued use.

Damage from theft attempts, impact, overload, forced entry, misuse, or tampering may not be covered under warranty.

14. Children and Unauthorized Users

InnerLok products are not toys.

Keep keys, packaging, small parts, and locking components away from children. Improper handling may create choking hazards, pinch hazards, lock-in hazards, injury risks, or product damage.

Do not allow children or unauthorized users to install, remove, operate, or tamper with InnerLok products.

15. Professional Assistance

If you are unsure about installation, compatibility, towing safety, product fitment, or product condition, seek assistance from a qualified trailer, hitch, towing, automotive, or mechanical professional before use.

Do not guess when safety, towing, or product compatibility is uncertain.

16. Customer Responsibility

By using an InnerLok product, you accept responsibility for:

  • Selecting the correct product
  • Confirming fitment
  • Following instructions
  • Inspecting before use
  • Maintaining the product
  • Using compatible towing equipment
  • Operating within rated limits
  • Following towing laws
  • Securing keys and access items
  • Using reasonable theft-prevention practices
  • Stopping use if damage or unsafe conditions are present

17. Limitation of Responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stealth Creative LLC, InnerLok, its owners, officers, members, employees, contractors, suppliers, vendors, affiliates, and service providers are not responsible for losses, damages, injuries, claims, costs, or expenses caused by improper installation, incorrect fitment, misuse, modification, failure to inspect, failure to maintain, use beyond rated limits, use with incompatible equipment, unsafe towing practices, theft, attempted theft, tampering, or use outside the product's intended purpose.

Nothing in this policy limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

18. Updates to This Policy

InnerLok may update this Safety and Proper Use Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised effective date.

The policy in effect at the time of purchase generally applies to that purchase unless otherwise required by law.
