InnerLok Fitment Guide

You are responsible for confirming that the InnerLok product you purchase is compatible with your specific towing setup before installation or use. Fitment may vary depending on vehicle, hitch, receiver, trailer, ball mount, coupler, pin-hole size, clearances, manufacturer design, aftermarket parts, wear, damage, and prior modifications. If you are unsure whether an InnerLok product fits your setup, contact InnerLok at support@innerlok.com before purchase or use.

Before purchasing an InnerLok product, check the following:

• Receiver size
• Hitch class
• Ball mount size
• Pin-hole diameter
• Pin-hole alignment
• Receiver wall thickness
• Available clearance around the receiver
• Trailer coupler type
• Trailer coupler latch style
• Tongue weight rating
• Gross trailer weight rating
• Vehicle towing capacity
• Hitch and receiver manufacturer ratings
• Whether the product is intended for your specific application

Do not assume fitment based only on trailer type, vehicle model, or hitch appearance.

For hitch pin replacement products, confirm the receiver and ball mount are compatible with the product's stated specifications. Common receiver sizes may include:

• 1.25-inch receiver
• 2-inch receiver
• 2.5-inch receiver
• 3-inch receiver

Only use an InnerLok product with a receiver size, ball mount, and pin-hole configuration that matches the specific product instructions. The product must pass fully through the aligned receiver and ball mount pin holes and lock securely without forcing, drilling, grinding, or modification.

Before use, verify that the receiver and ball mount pin holes are properly aligned and match the required pin diameter for the InnerLok product.

Do not use the product if:

• The pin hole is too small
• The pin hole is enlarged, worn, or damaged
• The pin does not pass through cleanly
• The ball mount does not align correctly
• The lock does not fully engage
• The product must be forced into place
• The product is loose, unstable, or improperly seated

Improper pin-hole fitment may cause unsafe towing conditions, product failure, or damage.

Before installation, make sure there is enough clearance around the hitch, receiver, ball mount, bumper, spare tire, trailer tongue, coupler, safety chains, wiring, and locking mechanism. Check clearance with the trailer straight and during normal turning angles.

Do not use the product if it interferes with:

• Trailer movement
• Coupler operation
• Safety chains
• Trailer wiring
• Brake cables
• Breakaway cable
• Ball mount seating
• Receiver fitment
• Vehicle bumper
• Spare tire
• Tailgate operation
• Locking or unlocking access

For products intended for trailer couplers or related trailer security applications, confirm compatibility with the specific coupler type and latch design.

Check:

• Coupler size
• Coupler style
• Latch type
• Latch clearance
• Locking hole size
• Tongue shape
• Safety chain location
• Breakaway cable location
• Trailer jack location
• Surrounding obstructions
• Product seating and engagement

Do not use an InnerLok product on a coupler or trailer setup unless it fits fully, seats correctly, and locks as instructed.

InnerLok does not increase the rated capacity of your vehicle, hitch, receiver, ball mount, coupler, trailer, safety chains, braking system, or towing setup. The lowest-rated component in your towing setup controls the safe operating limit.

You must never exceed:

• Vehicle towing capacity
• Receiver rating
• Hitch rating
• Ball mount rating
• Coupler rating
• Gross trailer weight rating
• Tongue weight rating
• Safety chain rating
• Brake system requirements
• InnerLok product rating, if stated

Using a product beyond rated limits may result in product failure, trailer separation, property damage, injury, or death.

Certain InnerLok products may be designed to replace a standard hitch pin and remain installed during normal towing when used exactly as instructed. When used as a hitch pin replacement, the product must:

• Match the required pin diameter
• Pass fully through the receiver and ball mount
• Lock completely
• Remain properly seated
• Be used only with compatible equipment
• Be used only within the stated product limits
• Be inspected before each use

InnerLok hitch pin replacement products do not increase towing capacity or replace the need for properly rated towing equipment.

Do not modify any InnerLok product or towing component to force fitment. Do not:

• Drill
• Grind
• Cut
• Weld
• Bend
• Hammer into place
• File down components
• Remove safety features
• Alter locking parts
• Use spacers or adapters not approved by InnerLok
• Use damaged or improvised components

Modifying the product or towing setup may void warranty coverage and create unsafe conditions.

Before installing an InnerLok product, confirm:

• The product is the correct model for your application
• The receiver or coupler size matches the product specifications
• The pin diameter matches the required size
• All holes align properly
• The product slides into place without force
• The locking mechanism fully engages
• There is no interference with towing components
• The product does not contact the bumper, trailer, wiring, chains, or brake cables
• All components are undamaged
• You have read the instructions

Do not use the product if any checklist item fails.

Before towing with an InnerLok product installed, confirm:

• The product is fully seated
• The locking mechanism is fully engaged
• The key or lock system works correctly
• The ball mount is properly installed
• The trailer is properly coupled
• Safety chains are attached correctly
• Trailer lights are working
• Trailer brakes work where required
• Breakaway cable is properly attached
• The load is secured and balanced
• The trailer and vehicle are within rated limits
• No part is loose, damaged, or interfering with movement

If anything appears unsafe, do not tow until corrected.

Do not use the product if you notice:

• Loose fit
• Excessive movement
• Poor alignment
• Incomplete locking
• Difficulty inserting the pin
• Difficulty removing the product
• Contact with other towing parts
• Bent, cracked, or damaged parts
• Worn or enlarged pin holes
• Mismatch between receiver and ball mount
• Locking mechanism interference
• Product does not sit as shown in instructions

Fitment may be affected by used, worn, damaged, rusted, aftermarket, modified, or non-standard towing equipment. Before use, inspect the hitch, receiver, ball mount, coupler, trailer, and InnerLok product for damage or abnormal wear. Do not use the product with damaged or questionable equipment.

If you are unsure about compatibility, installation, rated limits, towing safety, or proper fitment, consult a qualified hitch installer, trailer technician, mechanic, or towing professional before use. Do not guess when fitment or towing safety is uncertain.
